secondo me vale la pena di fare upgrade in ogni caso anche se costi +
alti

Scartiamo pure questa ipotesi che non ci fa uscire dal pantano

Come sarebbe a di?

A noi interessa pagarlo per farci tornare sulla stable: se lui ci fa
una versione stable ad-hoc poi noi potremo fare i futuri upgrade da
soli senza problemi?
O avremo sempre bisogno di una stable ad-hoc per noi?
